With the Kärnten Card you really have Carinthia under your belt
We ourselves are enthusiastic supporters of the Kärnten Card. In recent years we have used it often and a general weekly schedule looked as follows:
We ourselves are enthusiastic supporters of the Kärnten Card. In recent years we have used it often and a general weekly schedule looked as follows:
Day 1:
On the first day we took the cable car to the top of the Gerlitzen Alpe (see our information page for the summer regarding the Gerlitzen Alpe), where we enjoyed a panoramic view over the surrounding lakes and the Ossiacher See. The children could play freely in the mountain landscape and tube on the Kanzelhöhe (mid‑station), while we treated ourselves to a nice drink in the sun.
Day 2:
This was the day we went to discover one of the lakes. The boat trips on the lakes (Millstättersee, Wörtersee and Ossiachersee) are included on the card. Afterwards we enjoyed the sun, swam and cooled off at the beach area of the Ossiachersee.
Day 3:
The next day we set off to Maltatal. In the morning we began with a drive to the high‑altitude reservoir (the toll is free with the Kärnten Card) and in the afternoon we went for the top excursion, the exciting 3D archery course. The fun of shooting arrows together, laughing at misses and cheering at accurate shots, is one of our favorite excursions which we repeat regularly.
Day 4:
When it rained for a day, we decided to drive to Klagenfurt. There the children could jump themselves tired in the trampoline park ‘Jumpdome’. Afterwards we paid a visit to Reptilienzoo Happ and ended the day in the planetarium. All these great excursions are fully included with the card!
Day 5:
Just a day without the Kärnten Card but a wonderful visit to the Laghi di Fusine in Italy. Here you can take a beautiful walk, wade in the water (or for the hardcore, swim 😉) and there is room along the way to enjoy a nice ice cream.
Day 6:
On day six we had free entry to the Raggaschlucht and took a wonderful walk there. An impressive gorge with wooden bridges, waterfalls and rock walls that rose steeply. These are special natural experiences to be discovered.
At the end of the afternoon tasty cold drinks awaited on one of the picnic benches, a trampoline and a refreshing dip in the pool. The contrast between the adventurous outings during the day and the calm evenings provides a perfect balance.
A top holiday, right?!
The above is a top week, isn’t it?! And we haven’t even mentioned all the other activities you can do with the card. Think of footgolf, various tree‑climbing courses, the pyramid cone, zoos, museums or caves.
And that is exactly what we point out to our guests. Because with the Kärnten Card staying longer truly becomes worthwhile. For five weeks you pay only €89 per adult. The price per week then drops significantly, while you retain the freedom to set off spontaneously.
Our Ferien- & Pferdegut is more than just a place to sleep. It is a place to slow down, to connect with each other and with nature. If you can combine that with mountain tops, gorges, swimming and sport and play (rafting or canyoning), then you have (in our opinion 😉) the perfect holiday balance.
So whether you are coming for the first time or have been with us before: consider a longer stay this year. The Kärnten Card provides adventure, we provide peace and space. Together this creates a holiday you will never forget.
Would you like to know more about the options or book directly? Feel free to contact us. We look forward to welcoming you to our location.
Finally:
An interesting aspect of the Kärnten Card is that it is also available as a season pass. The season opens on 1 May and ends at the end of October. So even during the May holidays or autumn holidays you can undertake many excursions with the card. Do you have any further questions or suggestions? We would love to hear them!
